Grilled Hot Honey Bacon Chicken Breast

🐔 Grilled Hot Honey Bacon Chicken Breast 🐔

Ingredients

🍗 Two large chicken breasts

🥓 Four slices of thick cut bacon

🍯 One fourth cup honey

🌶️ One teaspoon hot sauce

🌶️ One half teaspoon chili flakes

🧄 One half teaspoon garlic powder

🧂 One pinch of salt and black pepper

🥑 One tablespoon cooking oil

Instructions

1️⃣ Place the chicken breasts on a clean cutting board. Cover them with plastic wrap and use a meat mallet or heavy pan to pound them to an even thickness. This ensures they cook uniformly on the grill without drying out.

2️⃣ Rub both sides of the chicken breasts with the cooking oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Set them aside to rest at room temperature for a few minutes.

3️⃣ In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes until completely smooth. Set this hot honey glaze aside.

4️⃣ Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until they are perfectly crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it drain on a paper towel, then chop or crumble it into large pieces.

5️⃣ Preheat your grill to medium high heat. Clean and oil the grates well to prevent sticking.

6️⃣ Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the hot grill. Cook undisturbed for five to six minutes on the first side until nice grill marks form.

7️⃣ Flip the chicken over to the second side. Generously brush the grilled top side of the chicken with the hot honey glaze.

8️⃣ Cook for another five minutes. Brush more hot honey over the chicken during the final minute of cooking. The chicken is perfect when the internal temperature reaches one hundred sixty five degrees.

9️⃣ Top each grilled chicken breast with a generous amount of the crispy crumbled bacon right before pulling them off the grill. Let the chicken rest for three minutes so the juices lock in, then drizzle any remaining hot honey over the top and serve.
