Ponzu Glazed Salmon Recipe

🧑‍🍳 Ponzu Glazed Salmon Recipe 🧑‍🍳

Ingredients

🐟 Two fresh salmon fillets

🍋 One fourth cup ponzu sauce

🍾 One teaspoon mirin

🧄 One half teaspoon fresh grated ginger

🧂 One pinch of salt

🧈 One tablespoon cooking fat

🌱 Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

1️⃣ Dry the salmon fillets completely using a paper towel. This step is essential to get a good texture on the fish. Season both sides lightly with a pinch of salt.

2️⃣ In a small bowl, whisk together the ponzu sauce, mirin, and fresh grated ginger until smooth. Set this mixture aside for later.

3️⃣ Heat your skillet over medium high heat and melt the cooking fat. Place the salmon fillets in the pan skin side down. Cook for four minutes without moving them so the skin gets nice and crispy.

4️⃣ Carefully flip the fillets over to the flesh side. Cook for another one to two minutes.

5️⃣ Turn the heat down to low. Pour the ponzu mixture directly into the pan. Use a spoon to continuously scoop the bubbling sauce over the top of the salmon for thirty to sixty seconds until it becomes a glossy glaze.

6️⃣ Remove the salmon from the pan immediately to stop the cooking process. Pour the remaining warm glaze from the pan over the fillets. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
